INVINCIBLE REGULATING STRIDERS Marching Ensemble
UDA Ohio State Drill Team Cahmpions 2007
"THE BEST OF THE BEST!"
In America's suburban, inner cities, and rural communities, youth are faced with tremendous challenges-peer pressure, drugs, gangs and the list goes on ...As a result of these malicious acts we loose our children to the streets and sometimes even death. Michael McCorkle & Ms. Tiffany Echols organized a non- profit organization, the Invincible Regulating Striders, as a safe haven for all youth that has the desire to perform and compete with pride, power, and perseverance.
The I.R.S. Drill team consists of 45 plus members ranging from ages 5-19 from the Dayton, Ohio and surrounding areas. Our objective is to make a change in our community and the world, starting with a shoulder to lean on when there is no one else to turn to, along with continuing to support our local youth by mentoring and guidance. The I.R.S. also gives the youth a chance to travel around the U.S.A. to compete with other youth. The I.R.S. started off with 8 members on the 11th day of May of 2001. A group of determined parents, Ms. Echols, and Mr. McCorkle put their minds together to implement programs and fundraisers to make this group a success. “I tell you it was a whole lot of fish frying and bake sells going on, but we did it!”
In addition to all performances, parades, and competitions the I.R.S. staff stresses to our youth the importance of education. We also promote non-violence, crime prevention, and community service and leadership. The I.R.S. mentoring staff encourages our members to, “reach for the stars.” Although there will be some defeats walk with your head to the sky and look forward to the next competition. Each unit is different in their own way but we must remember the most important thing and that is, “drill team competitions are fun and everyone likes to win, but the real competition is with the streets, gangs, drugs, and guns.”
The IRS Drill Team and Drum Line is available for special performances. Please leave us an e-mail or call the number below.
The IRS is a non-profit organization that was founded May 11, 2001 by Michael S. McCorkle. Currently the team consist of 30 Senior Regulators and 14 Drummer.
